The Felines of Aguai´s Project intends to integrate the research with the environmental education. The environmental education program based on the conservation of biology will be developed by using educational materials, multiple techniques to make people aware and dialogues that will involve the people in the conservation of the ecosystems, to value the local culture and in the developing of means to boost creativity of maintainable projects. The idea is that the people become multiplying agents in the process of environmental defense and conservation.

The information collected in the study will subsidize the activities of the program of environmental education, and it will be transmitted to the public in a simple and accessible way.

Besides, the project will gather the knowledge of the local populations that will be valued and inserted in the programs of environmental education as fundamental components, along with the scientific knowledge, for the creation in new handling ways and valuing of the local nature. The project believes that it is impossible to accomplish the conservation of an area without the support and involvement of the surrounding community.
